UPDATE: VIDEO OF THE RALLY

things went smooth
and i want to say thanks to the
Teamsters Union for again helping out with the historical event. not
NOT ONLY did they show their continued suppport for our events but they also
brought an 18 wheeler truck full of goodies and a crew of teamsters. the teamsters sat in the school board meeting last night
in support of the youth antiwar movement! fucking hardcore teamsters, many continued thanks from all of us.

when i woke up yesterday it was pouring out rain and was about 40's degrees, i loaded the materials in to the ride and headed downtown, was supposed to get there early for additional last minute meetings and needed to get there before the volunteers,
when i arrived was only the stage crew setting up the stage right on schedule as usual, and some of the other organizations were setting up their tables and boothes, was still two hours before the rally event was to start...
around a half an hour before the event was to march all the students were starting to show up and westlake was starting to get really packed with masked students wearing black. students were showing up in mass groups from all different directions as a school pack,
see that afternoon over 50 schools around the state of washington marched out of class that day in protest of the recruiters in their schools, we are talking about mass ditch day, but they all rallied at westlake for the event... when some of the schools were showing up they were pimping their school colors proudly and banging buckets and chanting as they entered the westlake rally area. schools from all over the northwest.
it was getting close to that time to line up, so
passed out twelve secure radios the the LC team brought and delegated the march route maps with the peacekeepers,
Then we got the head of the peacekeepers(wearing orange), legal observers(wearing green), tactical teams and liasons together and went to meet with the head of the police, seemed they have doubled the amount of officers as last weeks rally and had two lietenants and paul representing their side, went over the details again in front of the crowd that was lining up, about starting and traffic patterns, see getting thousands of screaming youth (most who are anarchists:) down a busy street is a serious thing that could turn into a problem with one small thing...
the peacekeepers and legal observers took their positions, radio'd out to to get them to start lining up on the street in front of westlake after the police were ready and blocked off the intersections... wew here we go,,, a sense of complete euphoria is taking place right now as i type this and as that moment started, a sense of accomplishment and victory and it hasnt even started yet... wow, leading the rally down the street started out smooth then they were a little restless at first, majority had masked their faces but also had others from all walks of life... like the raves kids were representing their happi vibes and hugs, was a much loader and angry march was flowing down the streets, we stopped at the federal building where we began a small speech and then looked up at the tall windows and brick building in shame... then moved on to city hall where a small speech was given before we quickly moved on to the school board building, this was a long stretch but the peacekeepers kept the crowd in complete control, or was the crowd completely honoring their positions as true peacekeepers of order and not facism..? cause the crowd kept chanting for the police to leave cause they dont need them now... we finally started to arrive at the entrance of the school baord building, where the stage crew had already setup, but man, as the sun was setting over the all you could see was the beauty of a shiny 18 wheeler with the words "Teamsters Union" on the side, large amounts of food was handed out along with odwalla juices for everyone... the concert was cool, people were 'dancing in protest' (hey thats a cool phrase)
things were cool but heard there was supposed to be a antiprotest somewhere at the concert event, didnt see anything... then finally, there they were...
two military recruiters, show up, they sort of hung outside of the area we had taped off, but finally walked inside... the peacekeepers approached them walking close by, one recruiter was a fine ass white girl and another looked like a bully drill sergent, they had their dress classA blues on (dress uniforms)... then looked like then felt the anger brewing as everyone pretty much stopped and was just in awe gazing at these two, like wtf... well they actully just walked over to the police, then left the event and didnt show up to speak either...
anyways after the concert we got them to line up outside the school board building to go in, see if we were to change just on cities school board it could change the entire countries view on recruiters in schools. speeches were given to all the board members that were sitting in that day, but even though the board knew about the rally, they still refused to include the topics on their board meeting agenda (schedule)

thanks to all who help support this action ,
